Windows 11, originally released in October 2021, is Microsoft’s latest major version of its Windows operating system. Windows 11 is compatible with Brown’s core services and functional with our “core” software, supported browsers and VPN. 

What's New?

The overall look of Windows 11 is different from Windows 10, but many features are quite similar since the two operating systems share the same base code. Windows 10 Support?

Microsoft will no longer be providing security or feature updates to Windows 10 after October 14, 2025. If you’re still running Windows 10 on a Brown device as of late 2025, please reach out to your department’s computer support person for assistance.
