How to Reinstall Configuration Manager (SCCM) Client

If you have been directed to reinstall the Configuration Manager client (SCCM), follow these steps:

Uninstall Configuration Manager

  1. Open a "Windows Command Prompt" as Administrator
  2. Change directory by typing: cd\windows\ccmsetup {then press ENTER}
  3. Type dir to confirm that you are in the directory listed above (windows\ccmsetup).
  4. Run the following command: ccmsetup.exe /uninstall
  5. Wait for the process to complete

Install New SCCM Client

  1. In File Manager enter this into the address bar: \\files22.brown.edu\DFS\OIT_EndpointEngineering\partners\packages\Microsoft\sccm\5.0.9068.1012\
  2. Copy the contents of the "5.0.9068.1012" folder to the local hard drive in a folder on the C:\ Drive off the root
  3. Open a "Windows Command Prompt" as Administrator
  4. Run in command window from newly copied folder: ccmsetup.exe mp:psccmcit.ad.brown.edu SMSSITECODE=BCM 

The installation of the Configuration Manager Client can take up to 30 minutes to one hour to completely  install.  You can check the status by going to Control Panel, Configuration Manager, and look under the General Tab.
