SM58 Vocal Microphone

Instructions

  • Connect the microphone to the equipment in use (ex. speaker, computer, etc.)

  • Aim the microphone toward the desired sound source (such as the talker, singer, or instrument) and away from unwanted sources.

  • Place the microphone as close as practical to the desired sound source.

MXL AC-404 USB Microphone

Instructions

  • Connect the microphone to either Windows or Macintosh computers via the USB cable. The microphone is a plug and play microphone so there is no need for any special drivers.

  • Setup for Windows operating system:

    • To select the MXL microphone as the default audio device, go to Start menu => Control Panel => Sound and Audio Devices

    • Click on the Audio tab and select USB audio CODEC from the drop-down menu in Sound playback and Sound recording.

    • Click on the Apply button for these changes to take effect.

  • Setup for Apple operating system:

    • Go to Apple Icon => System Preferences => Sound Icon

    • Click on the Input tab and select the device named USB Audio CODEC.

    • To use the headphone jack on the microphone as the audio output, click on the Output tab and select the device named USB Audio CODEC.

 

 


Sony WCS-999 Wireless LAV

Instructions

  • Insert one size AA battery each into the transmitter and receiver units.

  • Connect the receiver to the microphone jack of a video camera recorder or to the microphone jack of a tape recorder.

  • Connect the lavalier microphone to the transmitter unit and clip it to your clothes.

  • Make sure both the receiver and transmitter units are on the same channel. If they are successfully tuned, the indicator to the left of the channel selector switch of the receiver unit lights up.

  • Power on the transmitter first, then the receiver.

  • To monitor the sound being recorded, connect the earphone to the jack of the receiver unit.

  • When turning off, power off the receiver, then the transmitter.

Sennheiser MKE 400 Camera Microphone

Instructions:

  • Insert an AAA size battery in the battery compartment, which is located in the bottom of the microphone.

  • Slide the microphone onto the video camera’s flashmount and lock the microphone by screwing down the knurled washer.

  • Insert the 3.5 mm stereo jack plug into the microphone input socket of the video camera.

  • Switch the microphone on by setting the “on/off” switch to one of the following positions:

    • 1. Turn the switch to the left for linear frequency response.

    • 2. Turn the switch to the middle for low-cut filter, which minimizes wind noise.

  • Adjust the microphone sensitivity to the volume of the sound source and to the input sensitivity of the camera/camcorder by setting the volume switch.

    • The negative side is for recording normal or loud sound sources.

    • The positive side is for recording quiet or distant sound sources.
