Tableau Prep Clean and shape your data for analysis | This desktop product is available for Tableau Desktop licensed users. It is a self-service data preparation tool that helps clean and shape your data prior to analysis. Use it to prepare data for analysis in Tableau Desktop or for other purposes. | Free trial download for anyone. Licenses for the full version are automatically made available to Tableau Desktop (see above) licensed users. | ||||||||||
Develop visualizations to share on a website | This free version of Tableau Desktop allows users to develop and publish interactive data visualizations to the Tableau Public server and optionally embed on a website. All work is saved and published to the Tableau Public web servers and owned by Tableau—nothing is saved locally on your computer. Features include:
Visit the Office of Institutional Research to see Tableau Public in use at Brown. | If you want to learn Tableau Desktop for professional development (and aren't working with sensitive Brown data) or use it visualize data for a hobby and can share your visualizations publicly, this is a great option. | ||||||||||
Tableau Reader | This free desktop application allows a user to open, view, and interact with visualizations built in Tableau Desktop. Think of it like Adobe Reader for visualizations. | Free download for anyone. | ||||||||||
Share data visualizations securely within the organization | Tableau Desktop licensed users can publish and share data visualizations centrally to Tableau Server with specific authorized users or groups of users within Brown. Along with Cognos Analytics, Tableau Server is one of Brown's two enterprise business intelligence platforms. | If you are a Tableau Desktop (see above) licensed user, you can request a Tableau Server project to publish and share your data visualizations securely. | ||||||||||
